About this journey

Experience Vietnam’s best of North where you will explore the charms of capital Hanoi, return train journey through northern mountains of Vietnam, see hill tribes and its unique culture & villages, traditional markets and different ethnicities and a Junk cruise on UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi → Lao Cai (B)

Walking tour of Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. Evening transfer to Hanoi train station for your overnight train to Lao Cai

Day 3: Lao Cai → Sapa (B)

Arrive in Lao Cai and after breakfast at a local restaurant, visit various colorful regular hill tribe markets and transfer to Sapa

Day 4: Sapa (B)

Transfer from Sapa to a trekking point near Thanh Kim. Take a hike along the footpaths of Silver Stone Mount. Witness the stunning views of the valleys and rice paddy terraces. After lunch, continue the walk to a nearby Red Dao village to visit a school.

Day 5: Sapa (B)

Embark on an exciting day trip to Fansipan Peak, the highest mountain in Indochina. This unforgettable journey combines natural scenery and cultural charm. Travel by Muong Hoa Valley train, then take a breathtaking ride on the world’s longest cable car to reach the summit. Return to Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa → Lao Cai; overnight train (B)

Morning drive to Y Linh Ho where a scenic trek will lead you to the Muong Hoa Valley festooned with lush terraced paddy fields. Evening transfer to Lao Cai station for your overnight train back to Hanoi

Day 7: Hanoi → Halong Bay (B/L/D)

Arrive in Hanoi and proceed to a restaurant for breakfast. Transfer to Halong Bay to board a traditional Junk to discover the 'land of 3000 islands'.

Day 8: Halong Bay → Hanoi (Brunch)

Enjoy the sunrise on your junk. Continue sailing and disembark at pier in Halong Bay. Return to Hanoi in the afternoon.

Day 9: Hanoi (B)

Transfer to the airport.
