Highlights of Vietnam

Arrive in Hanoi.

Walking tour of Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. Excursion to Chua Tay Phuong Pagoda, birthplace of water-puppetry and Chua Thay, among first temples to be built in Vietnam.

Drive through rice paddy fields to Halong Bay. Board a junk and cruise among the hundreds of islets of Halong Bay. Drop anchor in the evening for an overnight among the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea. Overnight on a junk.

Take a delightful morning cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay before returning to the pier. Drive back to Hanoiand flight to Hue.

Full day tour visiting Old Imperial City, visit the Imperial Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc and Dong Ba Market. Excursion to Thien Mu Pagoda with Dragon boat ride.

Take a scenic drive to Hoi An enroute, visiting Cham Museum and Marble Mountains. Afternoon walking tour of Hoi An visiting Phuc Kien, a Chinese Communal House or Hokkien Temple, ancient merchants’ houses and the colorful local market.

Flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Excursion to Cu Chi Tunnels, amazing complex of underground bunkers which were used by guerrilla army during the Vietnam War. Afternoon orientation drive of Ho Chi Minh City showcasing mix of French colonial architecture and Chinese influences.

Day trip to Mekong Delta to see agrarian life in vibrant southern Delta. Enjoy boat ride to the floating markets. Lunch at a local house and see family run traditional businesses.

Transfer to airport.
