About this journey

Vientiane is the laid-back capital of Laos with its unique and hidden charms. This 3-day tour introduces you to all the major highlights of the city. Moreover, you will also have chance to join Vientiane residents in the early morning as they present offerings to Buddhist monks.

Itinerary

Day 1: Vientiane

Arrive in Vientiane.

Day 2: Vientiane (B)

City tour starting with Wat Sisaket, believed to be Vientiane's oldest surviving temple containing over 2,000 silver and ceramic Buddha images. Next visit to Wat Phra Keo, religious museum that displays a collection of art representing Lao and Khmer artefacts. Continue to Wat Si Muang. Afternoonvisit to Patuxai Victory Monument. Next, visit Pha That Luang, the most revered shrine. Later, visit the orchid farm, where you can find more than 2,000 plants, in 300 different orchid species coming from different parts of the country. Enjoy a spectacular view over the Mekong River at sunset.

Day 3: Vientiane (B)

Awake in the early morning to donate alms with the locals, meditate in a secluded Buddhist Temple and chat with monks to learn about their daily lives and activities. Drive to Buddha Park. En route, stop at the Friendship Bridge, linking Laos and Thailand. This unusual park is filled with over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues. Transfer to the airport.
